HERALDRY of the NBI Seal
|
The NBI Seal is symbolic of the ideals and mission of the National Bureau of Investigation as the premier investigation agency of the Philippines.
The seal at the top represents the Coat-of-Arms of the Republic of the Philippines. The revered name of the NBI is written on the big scroll together with the name of the Department of Justice, its mother agency. The Lady Justice, in Filipino dress, holding the sword and balance and with the sunburst around her symbolizes purity and justice. The Small scroll at the center represents the motto for which the NBI stands for - Nobility, Bravery and Integrity, the true traits of a dedicated law-enforcement officer. The decorative border of seventeen (17) Sampaguita leaves and flowers represents the seventeen (17) regions of the Philippines to which the NBI shall carry its mission. 1936 shows the year the NBI was founded, on November 13, 1936, upon approval of Commonwealth Act No. 181 by the First National Assembly.
